Your emotions are energy in motion (e-motion). If you don’t allow your emotions to move through you as they arise they get stuck in your physical tissue. Not a good thing.
Did you learn somewhere along the way, as many of us did, that some of your emotions are “bad” and should be repressed? Perhaps you conditioned yourself to ignore or bury those feelings. I know I did.
This is often a subconscious reaction that we aren’t even aware we are doing. Over time these repressed emotions can start to have a negative effect on our health. Our bodies are wise and begin to communicate this distress with aches, pains or disease.
No emotion is “bad”. Our emotions are just a guidance system to inform us about our internal experience.
The best thing to do to allow an emotion to flow through to completion… feel and breath. Don’t react. Step away from a situation if needed. And notice what’s happening in your body, how you are feeling and breathe through any difficult emotions.
Once the emotion has cleared you can ask yourself the message it had for you. Own it. Then take conscious action versus unconscious reaction.
I’ve discovered some beautiful truths about the connection between my mind and my body. I’m practicing ways to listen to and trust my body wisdom and calm the mind chatter. This is bringing me so much more peace and happiness and I hope to inspire you to do the same.
