Video Transcript

Hello and welcome back! Today, we’re diving into the final aspect of your inner self: the wise adult. This part of you represents the culmination of your experiences, growth, and wisdom. The work you did in the previous videos of healing your wounded inner child and adaptive child set you up to step firmly into your wise adult. By tapping into the energy of your wise adult, you can make informed decisions, cultivate self-awareness, and lead a more fulfilling and purposeful life.

Traits of the Wise Adult:

Let’s explore some of the key traits associated with the wise adult:

Self-Awareness – As a wise adult, you possess a deep understanding of yourself, including your strengths, weaknesses, values, and aspirations. You have a clear sense of who you are and what matters to you. Imagine an interviewer askes you about your strengths and weaknesses. As a wise adult, you would be able to provide a thoughtful and accurate reflection of your abilities and areas for improvement. For example, you might say, “I’m aware that my strengths lie in my ability to communicate effectively and my attention to detail. However, I know that I can sometimes struggle with time management and need to work on setting clearer priorities.”

Emotional Regulation – Your wise adult is emotionally intelligent and composed. You have the ability to manage and regulate your emotions effectively, allowing you to navigate challenging situations with grace, empathy, and clarity. Picture receiving unexpected feedback that is critical of your work. Instead of immediately reacting with anger or defensiveness, your wise adult kicks in, allowing you to take a step back, breathe, and respond with composure. You might say, “Thank you for sharing your perspective. I appreciate the feedback, and I will take it into consideration as I continue to improve my work.”

Intuition – Your wise adult taps into your intuition, that inner knowing that guides you in making choices aligned with your higher self. You trust your gut feelings and follow your inner wisdom. Imagine you are faced with a major life decision, such as choosing between two job offers. Your wise adult relies on your intuition to guide you in making the right choice. You might have a gut feeling that one job aligns more closely with your values and long-term goals, and based on that intuition, you confidently make your decision.

Resilience – Drawing upon your past experiences, your wise adult demonstrates resilience in the face of adversity. You have learned valuable lessons from life’s challenges and can bounce back stronger than before. Think about a time when you faced a significant setback, such as a project failure or a personal loss. Your wise adult comes into play as you draw upon the lessons learned from similar past experiences. You find the strength to pick yourself up, learn from the situation, and move forward. For instance, you might say, “Although this setback was disheartening, I know that I’ve faced challenges before and have always come out stronger. I will use this experience as an opportunity for growth and apply the lessons learned to future endeavors.

Harnessing Your Wise Adult:

Now, let’s explore how you can harness the qualities of your wise adult and empower your personal transformation:

Cultivate Mindfulness – Practice mindfulness to develop a deeper connection with your inner self. Engage in activities like meditation, breathwork, journaling, or simply taking moments of stillness to listen to your inner wisdom.

Reflect on Your Past Experiences – Take time to reflect on your life experiences, both positive and negative. What lessons have you learned? How have those experiences shaped you? Allow the wisdom gained to guide your present and future choices.

Seek Growth and Learning – Embrace a growth mindset by seeking opportunities for continuous learning and personal development. Engage in activities that expand your knowledge, skills, and perspectives.

Believe in your own capabilities and trust your judgment. Tap into your intuition when making decisions and trust that you have the wisdom within to navigate life’s complexities.

By stepping into the energy of your wise adult, you can harness your inner wisdom, make empowered choices, and lead a purposeful life. Remember, your wise adult represents the culmination of your experiences and growth. By cultivating self-awareness, emotional regulation, and resilience, you can navigate life’s journey with clarity and grace.

Thank you for joining me on this exploration of your inner self. I hope you’ve gained valuable insights and tools to embrace your adaptive child, wounded inner child, and wise adult.
